Fees
for Full Building Surveys and HomeBuyer Report & Valuations
We operate a scale of fees based partly on the age of the building,
partly on the price being asked (or which you have agreed to pay).
This assumes the building is habitable and that the price does not
reflect unusual circumstances, such as an additional area of land
or advanced dereliction. The fee is inclusive of all except VAT.
Once you have asked us to survey and we have
quoted you a fee, we will send you a confirmation letter setting
out the agreed terms. You will be asked to sign a copy of that letter
(which we enclose) and return it to us as written confirmation of
your instructions.
Since a healthy cash-flow means our rates stay
competitive, we ask that a cheque for the full survey fee plus VAT
be enclosed with your confirmation of instructions. This cheque
is banked on the day we send you the report which will include our
receipted account. Should the survey be cancelled for any reason
we simply post your uncashed cheque back to you immediately.
In unusual circumstances where the fee scale
cannot be applied, an hourly rate is charged. All hourly rate fees
are subject to petty disbursements such as telephone and travel,
plus VAT at the ruling rate.
Any specialist report ordered in addition to
our survey is subject to the additional agreed fee, payable direct
to that contractor.

Fees for other work
In general we operate the fee scales recommended
by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Where no scale
exists, fees are based on the time expended plus travel and other
expenses unless an alternative basis is agreed.
Buildings vary and you may have particular
needs which alter the extent of service we provide. We are always
willing to discuss specific projects and quote a fee basis to fully
reflect the work involved. For more information concerning other
work please contact us here
